The Antares 44, renowned for over two decades as the world’s premier blue-water cruising catamaran, has undergone meticulous construction and continuous improvement based on extensive global testing and feedback from its 72 dedicated hull owners. In 2019, Argentinian yacht builder 40 Grados Sur redesigned the cockpit for the GT version, and Halo, the inaugural Antares with this enhanced cockpit, is now ready to embark on its new journey. Halo’s new owners will be reassured by the fact that she has undergone rigorous testing and optimization, culminating in her new-owner shakedown period. All systems were fully commissioned in Argentina and subsequently subjected to extensive sea trials. The owner and builder have invested heavily in ensuring every aspect of Halo’s performance, equipping her with the confidence to sail confidently in any global destination.

Construction The hull and deck are constructed using Isophthalic acid resin and tri-axial knitted fiberglass fabric. The exterior layer is composed of 100% vinylester, while the interior layer is made of polyester. Corecell foam is employed for coring above the waterline, with the exception of hardware attachment points. All coring is vacuum-bagged to ensure complete adhesion. Below the waterline, the hulls are solid fiberglass. Each bow locker contains two forward watertight compartments, and there are four watertight bulkheads - two forward and two aft. The standard fin keels feature a sacrificial section designed to withstand substantial damage without compromising hull integrity.
Accommodations Exceptional craftsmanship and industry-leading fit-and-finish are evident throughout, with foam core furniture and exceptional joinery and top-of-the-line fixtures.
